It is no coincidence that more than 50% of the human brain is involved with visual processing. Our eyes are the richest source of sensory input that we use to interpret and analyze the world around us. As we witness the proliferation of connected ‘IoT’ devices (at some estimates touching 20B units/year by 2020), we at NetraDyne believe that we will see a similar trend with the camera becoming the primary sensory input for many of these devices. Over the last few years we have seen a rapid improvement in performance and reduction in cost of camera sensors, compute resources at both the client and the cloud, and bandwidth connecting the client with the cloud. These improvements, along with advancements in deep learning technology, have created a perfect opportunity to leverage vision based processing across multiple industries.
