In 1976, after deciding the "big company" career track was not for us, we began our new career in a small leased space near downtown Houston with one employee, one mixer, and one small oven. We wore many hats - baking, selling, and delivering cakes in addition to keeping books and cleaning the floors. As demand for our cakes grew, so did the size of our bakery. In 1984 Lawler Foods moved to a new location in Humble, TX.

One year later, a well-known wholesale club put our cheesecake in their outlets as a Christmas item. With 7 employees and typical orders no larger than 125 cases, we were suddenly faced with producing 3 semi truck loads of product. We hired 9 new employees and worked around the clock to assure every order was delivered on time. The popularity of the product convinced club management to stock our cheesecakes year-round.

Our original bakery has grown to include 23 acres of land and a 55,000 sq. ft. building including our first fully automated facility used to produce component items, squares and miniatures in the most efficient way possible.

Current business includes national restaurant chains, wholesale clubs, and retail outlets in the US, Canada, Mexico and Europe. Lawler Foods' large selection of desserts is certified kosher dairy and tested by FSNS and our immaculate facilities are routinely inspected by Silliker Labs. These inspections, certifications and our in-house laboratory, assure our customers of the highest standards of cleanliness and quality.

In 2007 we realized every business owner’s dream when we were able to pass the pans over to our son, Mike, who has taken over the position of President. Now in its second generation, Lawler Foods continually strives to maintain the quality and service on which our customers have come to depend.
