After graduating from Berkeley with a bachelor's in International Business and Finance, Mark began his career on Wall Street in New York City as an advisor to mutual funds, focused on the midstream oil sector. Merrill Lynch Private Wealth recruited him in 2016. Mark currently manages stock and bond portfolios for ultra-high-net-worth-individuals, endowments, and foundations, with extensive experience and knowledge in fixed income and alternative investments (Private Equity and Hedge Funds).

Mark also founded the Mark Atlan Foundation, MAF, to teach financial literacy classes to Tribal Nations and a Barrio Action Youth and Family Center board member.
