See More dels, many managers still rely on traditional management models to improve team productivity. By adopting an entirely different system, Brazilian startup Salpinx has been showing that traditional models are not always the best choice.
Located in the San Pedro Valley in Belo Horizonte, Salpinx has developed a performance management platform that uses the concepts of self-management and gamification to put employees in control of their tasks. This approach represents significant reduction in the average unproductive hours of a team.
According to Márcio Bernadino, Salpinx CEO, self-management is an innovative concept that removes the need for managers to monitor and interfere with a team’s activities all the time. Gamification is used to recognize employees for good performance, keeping them motivated and engaged.
"We found out that our employees were more motivated when they received real-time feedback or they were empowered in the workplace. We inserted these concepts into our platform and already increased the performance of our team by 41 percent," said Bernadino.
Besides self-management and job gamification, Salpinx uses performance indicators to empower employees and show managers how team productivity works in real time.
According to Microsoft software architect Felipe Andrade, these are the main differentials of the platform. “Salpinx is a tool that, in addition to pointing out possible performance problems, helps customers identify solutions,” said Andrade. “It sees the construction of the performance culture in companies in a broad way, focusing its solutions on all the elements that contributes to this ideal: increased quality of life, motivation, a good organizational ambience and all integrated into robust and easy-to-use project management software.”
These are concepts that emphasize the importance of providing a work environment where employees feel comfortable and driven to generate their results in a conscious and healthy way.
Salpinx was born within Marph and is supported by the Microsoft Corporation as a Gold Partner in the Microsoft Partner Program. It also receives Microsoft Azure support to develop new features and updates, ensuring the security and centralization of the information with a low operating cost.
